I am so happy to have the opportunity to rave about my experience with my electrologist, Karen Calder. I began my hair removal about 20 years ago, wanting to work on my eyebrows. It was so successful that I then worked on my bikini and underarms and I am now a "plucked chicken" and couldn't be happier! Over the years my boys and husband had their eyebrows worked on and my 29 year old daughter is now hair free and beyond thrilled. Karen is not only an expert in hair removal she is the most wonderful person with a warm and beautiful heart. We are all so fortunate to know her!

I became a client of Karen's 10 months ago when I decided I could no longer keep up with the excessive hair growth on my face, which included the unruliest ingrown hairs that were starting to cause marks and scarring on my face. And it's one of the best decisions and investments I could have ever made. Karen is a real pro and expert in her field. Beyond her technical expertise in electrolysis, I have found Karen even more knowledgeable and empathetic than my own dermatologist and physicians when asking her questions about hair growth and other hormone triggering conditions like melasma that I've had to deal with. She has a wonderful bedside manner, which is extremely important due to the nature of the work. I live in Washington, DC and have family on Long Island, so I plan my monthly visits back based on Karen's availability. I have seen a dramatic reduction in my hair growth and significant improvement in my skin (since I don't have to touch my face anymore to remove hairs like I used to daily). The process does require patience on behalf of the client, but once you decide that electrolysis is the choice for you, you'll be glad you chose Karen.

I was introduced to Karen Calder about 14 years ago when I was advised to try electrolysis on some undesirable facial hair. Up until that time, I had been waxing various areas on my body. After successful treatment of this delicate area, I decided to continue the treatment on other areas as the hair removal is permanent and leaves the skin extremely smooth.

My skin has always been very fare and my hair very dark. I started off waxing for a little. I was a young teen at the time and my mom suggested I try electrolysis. For some, being around needles can be frightening. I knew it was the right thing for me because I would never have to worry about the hair, ingrown hairs, the awful anticipation of the wax being ripped off a body part. I met Karen Calder and my life changed. The process takes time but it is worth it. Karen is the most amazing technician. She is so caring, gentle and trustworthy. I never had a question or a concern about any suggestion she offered. Now I am a mom and it's hard to find time to have treatment. I use to go for three hours at a time and often. I am so thankful that I went when I did because now I NEVER have to worry about any of the areas Karen worked on. We did eyebrows, face, underarm, bikini and legs. The skin is so smooth and not a trace of any hair. Please note that it can be a slow process but the end results are AMAZING. I now have my own little girl and I know that in the future electrolysis with Karen will be our solution to hair removal.

I have been going to Karen for over 15 years for work on my eyebrows, face, underarms and bikini. Karen is extremely knowledgeable and only does what is best for her clients. Karen Calder is an exceptional electrologist. I have been a client of hers for over 10 years. She accomplished all that she has promised to complete and has worked diligently to permanently remove body and facial hair. The procedures or sessions were tolerable and practically painless, where I could almost fall asleep during them. My hair was permanently removed from certain areas that she worked on and they have never grown back since. I am now sure that electrolysis is the only true way to permanently remove human hair, as I had tried laser in the past and it was unsuccessful. Several people in my neighborhood raved about Karen's work, that I decided it was worth it to willingly travel to her office, even though it was a half hour car ride away from my home. She is worth her weight in gold and anyone that I have referred to her is just as happy with her work as I have been. She manages to be professional, warm, reassuring, personable, and sweet all at the same time and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Trust me when I tell you, it is difficult to find a good, trustworthy electrolysis and you will not find another electrologist in this area with the amount of experience, training, and knowledge that Karen has. Trusting your electrologist is incredibly important, as you create a certain bond with this person. You are modifying your body or face in a way, and you have to trust this person with this sort of personal change of appearance. Karen has been nothing but thorough and committed in helping me remove unwanted hair so that I could be more confident in my appearance. I would most definitely highly recommend her services to all who are introduced in removing hair and are looking for fantastic, remarkable results!
